OxygenOS to Get Several Enhancements This Year Tijink suggested for an improved setup menu, better ambient display, lock screen, OnePlus Launcher, OnePlus Messages, Notes, Gallery, Community, and Switch, among others. Tijink says that right now the OxygenOS’ setup menu isn’t bad but could be little more welcoming. He said that future OxygenOS should offer more languages support and better layout. Tijink basically says that the setup process must look better and also be better functional. Commenting on the OxygenOS Tijink said, “Android and OxygenOS have come a long way, with Android being more mature, and Oxygen OS having its own identity. The past few years have been very exciting, with the introduction of many features, like full control over accent colours, gaming and reading mode, gestures and more. I want to take things a step further. Finding the balance between features and design is one of the most important aspects of a phone because we interact with it uncountable times a day. I wanted to create a consistent, fluid and burdenless experience that makes the user feel in control while being focused on the things that actually matter.” A better ambient display is another area that needs improved Tijink said. He says that the ambient display on OnePlus phones are nice but can be better. Tijink suggests that the ambient display should work in a way that lifting a phone should display the time, date, and notifications. While tapping on the screen should show the notifications in detail. Tijink also suggests that the OxygenOS should need a redesigned lock screen. He also designed a brand new lock screen that we expect to see in the future OxygenOS. The lock screen is designed in a way so that it suits the design language of the system. OnePlus 7 Launch Nearing OnePlus has dominated the premium smartphone segment for the last two years. Last year’s OnePlus 6 and 6T smartphones were running success for the brand. And expectations are very high on OnePlus 7; It’s said the OnePlus 7 would have triple cameras on the back followed by a pop-up selfie camera like the Oppo F11 Pro and Vivo V15 Pro. OnePlus may not bring back the 3.5mm headphone jack with the OnePlus 7, but it will most likely retain the 3700mAh battery we saw on the OnePlus 6T. Also, OnePlus 7 will lack wireless charging functionality.
