Huawei, a Chinese telecom equipment manufacturing company, is set to launch 6G in China by 2030. While the nations worldwide are still thinking about setting up 5G networks, China’s Huawei is looking a step ahead and is planning for 6G. According to a CGTN report, Xu Zhijun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, has said that the company will launch its first commercial 6G network in the country by 2030. Further, he said that Huawei’s 6G would be 50 times faster than 5G....

Huawei, one of the Chinese vendors that played a major role in supplying network gear/parts to the telcos in India for building their 4G network, might be absent from the 5G roll out. Earlier this week, we reported that Chinese vendors such as Huawei and ZTE might be included in India’s list of trusted vendors for supplying network equipment for 5G. But that might not be the case after all....

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the launch for Aatmanirbhar Bharat Innovation Challenge intended to promote the existing Indian apps and support the development of new apps. The Aatmanirbhar Bharat Innovation campaign is hosted by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology along with the Atal Innovation Mission, an Indian government initiative to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. The launch of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Innovation challenge is on the heels of the Indian government banning 59 apps including TikTok, UC Browser and WeChat....

The Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrashekhar in a statement on Monday said that India will make use of semiconductors worth about $70 to $80 billion to manufacture electronic products worth more than $300 billion by the year 2026 as visualised in the government’s vision for the sector. He further informed that the government is focused on establishing a semiconductor ecosystem in the country as it has been receiving voluminous attention from around the globe....

ATC “On Track” to “Recover” Commercially in India Smith in the NAREIT REITworld 2020 annual virtual conference on Wednesday said that ATC is “on track” to “recover” commercially in India. “But the Indian market really is looking structurally very good, has three commercial carriers, one government backed carrier, and we do see double digit gross growth there,” Smith said in the NAREIT REITworld 2020 annual virtual conference. However, Smith highlighted that the ATC’s international markets “grow a couple of hundred basis points faster” than the company’s home market, the United States of America....

Instagram on Wednesday said that it is rolling out a new update that enables users to create a reel up to 30 seconds in length. Instagram in early August unveiled Instagram Reels that lets users to “create and discover short, entertaining videos” on its platform. The company prior to the update had restricted the users to record and edit clips up to 15 seconds in length. It has to be noted that TikTok, the key rival to Instagram Reels, lets users create videos up to 60 seconds in length....

Earlier today Reliance Jio Infocomm or Jio moved the bankruptcy court against Rcom or Reliance Communications tower unit, Reliance Infratel as per ET Telecom. This was done with the intention of seeking disclosures of the forensic audit reports of the tower company whose accounts were called fraudulent by some lenders. In a virtual hearing, Vikram Nankani, representing Jio stated that they wanted a copy of the forensic audit report that was disclosed to them so that they could make an assessment of how it would impact the resolution plan....
