Bharti Airtel, the second-largest telecom operator, is expected to go big with 5G-led capex in the coming quarters. The telco has freer cash flow because of lesser than expected capex during Q4 FY22, said Bernstein. According to Bernstein, Airtel will again lead with hiking tariffs in the second of 2022 as it did in 2021. The brokerage firm has revised the target price of Airtel from Rs 900 to Rs 915....

Bharti Airtel had listed on its website that none of the iPhone models, including the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 series devices, would work on Indian 5G networks right now. iPhone users in India were disappointed to see that. That said, it is obvious that it won’t be the case forever. Of course, the OTA (over-the-air) update that needs to come from Apple to enable iPhones to work on Airtel’s 5G network would come sooner or later....

Airtel and Vodafone Idea ARPU Increase Depends on Various Factors Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea will be required to increase their ARPU in the coming quarters. The recently announced tariff hikes translating into higher revenues for each operator would be watched closely, says ICICI Securities. According to the firm, Bharti Airtel ARPU will likely see an increase of Rs 28, whereas Vodafone Idea ARPU will jump by Rs 23 in the Calendar Year 2020 (CY20)....

Friday saw the launch of the new Bharti Airtel postpaid series of plans known as Airtel Black. The name sounds as premium as the service and we can’t disagree because of the promises that the telecom operator is making for these plans. The telco has said that it will bundle all other services in the same plan, such as Digital TV, and Airtel Xtream Broadband plan under a single bill which the consumers will be able to pay and see in the Airtel Thanks app....

Bharti Airtel recently said that its online banking subsidiary, Airtel Payments Bank, could be a unicorn. For the unaware, unicorn is a term used for companies/startups whose valuation goes beyond a billion dollars. Airtel Payments Bank had turned profitable in 2021. For FY22, the company’s profits were Rs 9 crore, and the total revenues were up by 50% to Rs 941 crore. The Average Revenue per User of Bharti Airtel at the end of June 2018 was Rs 105, and a year later, the telco managed to increase it to Rs 129, beating Reliance Jio in the process....
