Oppo Reno 3 Could Be the Cheapest 5G Phone Xiaomi surprised everyone earlier this week by pricing the Redmi K30 5G at 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 20,500) in China. The Redmi K30 is currently the cheapest 5G phone in China and around the world. However, it could soon be beaten by the Oppo Reno 3 as the phone will have the unannounced MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset. This news is confirmed officially by Oppo on the teaser page of the Oppo Reno 3 series. It seems like the MediaTek MT6885 chipset is the same Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset which the chipmaker will announce in the coming weeks or ahead of the official launch of Oppo Reno 3 on December 26. To recall, MediaTek announced the Dimensity 1000 5G chipset a few days ago and the Dimensity 1000L chipset could be a cheaper version of the same. The usage of MediaTek chipset will allow Oppo to price the Reno 3 competitively. Oppo Reno 3 Series: Everything You Need to Know The Oppo Reno 3 series will have two smartphones- Reno 3 and the Reno 3 Pro. The Reno 3 is the cheapest phone of the two, whereas the Reno 3 Pro will be the premium one with several new features. Oppo already confirmed the Reno 3 would measure 7.96mm thick, whereas the Reno 3 Pro will be 7.7mm thick. Both the phones will likely sport a glass back panels. The Reno 3 will feature a teardrop on top of the display, while the Reno 3 Pro is also confirmed to come with punch hole that houses the selfie camera. As for the hardware features, the Oppo Reno 3 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC and the Reno 3 Pro will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. The Reno 3 Pro will take on the Redmi K30 5G, whereas the Reno 3 will take on the Redmi K30 4G variant, but it will also offer 5G support on a budget. The Reno 3 Pro is also said to come with enhanced Super VOOC 4.0 technology which will charge the device from 0 to 100% in 56 minutes and 0 to 30% in just 20 minutes. Oppo will likely launch the Reno 3 series in India, but the hardware will be entirely different when compared to the Chinese models. The Oppo Reno 2 already has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, so we will not see the brand using same SoC in the Reno 3 series for the Indian market. Oppo India did not start teasing the launch of Reno 3 series, but we’re expecting the brand to bring both the phones to India in the first quarter of 2020.
